Natural Oil Cleanser

An oil cleanser?! A gentle, effective way to cleanse your skin.

When it comes to cleansing our skin, many of us have been conditioned to believe that oils are the enemy - something to be avoided at all costs. However, the truth is that oils can be powerful allies in achieving a clean, radiant complexion. The "oil cleansing method" has been gaining popularity in recent years, and for good reason. By harnessing the natural properties of certain oils, you can effectively dissolve dirt, makeup, and excess sebum without stripping away your skin's protective barrier.

This gentle yet thorough approach not only leaves your face feeling refreshed but can also help balance oil production and maintain a healthy glow. Nature provides us with an array of oil-based cleansers that are both effective and kind to our skin.

How Oil Cleansing Works

  • Dissolving Impurities: Oil can dissolve the natural oils in your skin that have hardened with impurities and clogged your pore
  • Balancing Oil Production: Regular use of cleansing oils can help balance your skin’s oil production by providing it with the natural oils it needs, reducing the need for your skin to overproduce oi
  • Moisturizing: Oils can be very moisturizing and nourishing for the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated.

Cleansing Oil We Recommend

We use Jojoba Oil and Yucca Root in our gentle cleansing oil,  CANYON SUNSET. Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax extracted from the seeds of the  jojoba plant (Simmondsia chinensis) , a shrub native to the deserts of North America. Yuca root is rich in saponins which help break down impurities, lift away dirt, and remove makeup and excess oils.

Benefits of Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil deeply moisturizes, soothes inflammation, balances oil production, promotes skin renewal, and provides antioxidant protection - making it a versatile and beneficial ingredient for overall skin health.

  • Jojoba oil has a chemical composition very similar to the skin's natural sebum, making it an excellent oil cleanser that dissolves dirt, makeup, and excess oil without stripping the skin.
  • As a humectant, jojoba oil helps attract and retain moisture in the skin.
  • The "like dissolves like" principle allows the jojoba oil to effectively remove oil-based impurities while replacing them with clean jojoba oil.
  • Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores, making it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone ski
  • Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe redness, irritation, and conditions like eczema and rosacea.

Benefits of Yucca Root

The cleansing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, hydrating, and balancing properties of yucca root make it an excellent natural ingredient for gentle yet effective facial cleansers that leave the skin clean, calm, and refreshed

  • Yucca root has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe skin irritation, redness, and conditions like eczema and rosacea when used in cleanser.
  • It contains antioxidants like resveratrol and vitamin C that help neutralize free radicals and protect the skin from environmental damage.
  • Yucca root has natural antibacterial and antiseptic qualities that can help combat acne-causing bacteria when used in cleansers.

How to Use

  • To use Canyon Sunset or jojoba oil for cleansing, massage a small amount onto dry skin, allowing it to break down oils and impurities. Then, wipe it off with a warm, damp cloth or cotton pad.
  • For a more thorough cleanse, you can follow the oil cleanse with a gentle facial toner or hydrosol.
